MBJJ was represented well by Lupe, Natasha, and Scotlan at NAGA in Austin this weekend. In his first BJJ tournament Lupe placed 1st in the no gi division and 2nd in the gi division. His haul included a silver medal and a samurai sword. He did not stop smiling (or talking) from the time we got there until we left.
Scotlan entered two different gi divisions and won a belt and silver medal. He lost in a very competitive match to a very skilled competitor. It was fun to watch.
Natasha entered 4 different divisions (they needed her to play up in weight and skill level so that other competitors would have a match) and she won them all. She collected 1 belt, 3 golds and 3 submissions along the way.
A big thanks to Doug, Victor, Shem and Schuyler for coaching and filming the matches. I have posted some highlights here.
