Paul Wins Elevate Superfight

1/21/2023

Tonight was a great night for the MBJJ Family. A huge turnout showed up to support Paul as he had the opportunity to cash in on all the work he put in. Shark Tanks, 6 am Conditioning, Training through Covid. No Excuses. He just showed up to train, day after day. You want one word to describe Paul? DISCIPLINED!

Here are some of the misfits that sacrifed their time and bodies getting him ready.

On a personal note, I was honored to be part of his training and and to be in his corner. Just like we talked about prefight, Paul made sure he brought the action to me so I didn't have to move or raise my voice. It was an interesting scene. As the lunatics at the MBJJ table were raising hell, Paul and I were having a casual conversation.

Royce Gracie Gathering

Brady and Scott had a great time and learned a lot at the recent Royce Gracie Gathering in Oklahoma City. We were fortunate to spend time shooting with the Oklahoma City Sheriff Department's firearm instructors at their gun range. We went to four seminars in 2 days and Scott participated in the black best testing of over 35 candidates. Brady did a great job acting as a nurse when Scott got a kidney stone on the last night of the trip. No pictures of that part of the weekend are included.

Great job by the competition team in college station. Silas, Skylar, Lauren and Leslie all competed and competed very hard. We were very proud to have the represent us. They have been working very hard and deserve the success they had. Great job by coaches Doug, Scotlon and Caleb getting them ready.

Last Roll at Urban Jungle on Yale Street

7/15/2019

So we all had one last roll Urban Jungle on Yale Street. This place was magical and will be missed. I will never forget the first time I walked in there. There were a bunch of guys "warming up" to a boxing timer. 3 minutes Hindu Squats, 3 minutes Jumping Jacks, 3 minutes Judo Pushups, 3 minutes bridging on their heads, all in 110 degree heat. Try that and see if it feels like a warmup. This short guys walks up and says "Tony". I said "I want in". He said "Get to work". I don't think we spoke again for months.

Our 10th anniversary celebration was a great time. There were a lot of guys from past that stopped by to help us celebrate. It was great seeing everyone, old and new. Big thanks to everyone that helped us put it on. An especially big thanks to Carina for all of her hard work. I have posted some pics from the night and 10 years worth of slideshows and highlights. Enjoy.

We had at least 300 people on the mats today as a community supporting BrewJitsu. We would like to thank everyone who came out to support this event to raise tuition for the @wedefyfoundation. Today we raised over $6,000 and we are just getting started.... #brewjitsu #8thwonderbrewery #renzograciehouston #worldclanbjj #fodacy
